The Leffler lab is open to applications from prospective members at all levels.

We are based in the Eccles Institute for Human Genetics at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. We are integrated into a strong community of evolutionary genetics and malaria and global health research with connections to the Biology Department and to medical school departments as through the Immunology, Inflammation, and Infectious Disease Initiative.

Please contact Dr. Leffler with your CV and a brief description of your research experience and interest in the lab.

Graduate Students

Prospective PhD students should apply through the Molecular Biology program in Biosciences at the University of Utah. First-year students in the program should get in touch to discuss a rotation.

Undergraduate Students

We participate as a mentoring lab in the Genomics Summer Research for Minorities (GSRM) and Native American Research Internship (NARI) programs run through the University of Utah. Please follow the links for details on these programs for how to apply.

University of Utah undergraduates may join the lab through the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP), a paid part-time opportunity. Please e-mail Dr. Leffler describing your interest in the lab.

Undergraduates may also directly e-mail to discuss other opportunities.
